Kid-Friendly Summer Activities Near Our Homes For Rent in Owasso

Summer is here, and for many residents of our Tulsa homes for rent, that means finding activities to occupy a lot of extra free time for their kids! Need help filling your kids’ summer with fun activities and quality time? Well, you’re in luck, because today’s post is all about giving Tulsa parents the tools they need to plan a fantastic summer for the whole family.

Do you have a friend or neighbor in our community of houses for rent in Owasso who could use some of these tips too? Go ahead and share this post with them once you’re done reading! For now, let’s talk kid-friendly summer activities.

Splash Around In The Pool

Nothing says summer more than a family trip to the pool! Grab your floaties and towels, put on your swimsuits, slather on that sunscreen, and you’re ready for a relaxing afternoon at the pool that you’ll enjoy almost as much as your kids will. Many of our Tulsa homes for rent offer access to community pools for a quick and convenient visit. If you’re interested in a more adventurous pool experience though, Safari Joe’s H2O isn’t far and features a wave pool, rides, slides, and play areas.

Explore a Park

If you’re like us, you believe that kids should spend plenty of time playing outdoors. Heading to a local park is the perfect way to encourage them to get active and explore. If you’re wondering what park to visit, Mohawk Park is one of our favorites; not only does it host the Tulsa Zoo, but the park itself also has plenty of walking trails and a Nature Center to visit as well.

Visit a Museum

Not every kid has the patience for extended walking around an art gallery or history museum, but many museums are kid-friendly and great at stimulating your children’s curiosity as much as your own. Depending on your children’s ages, you might plan a trip to the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium, or just head over to the Tulsa Children’s Museum Discovery Lab for some play-focused exploration. The Tulsa Geoscience Center is also a great option for groups of kids ready to learn about fossils, rocks, minerals, earthquakes, and more.

Volunteer for a Worthy Cause

Summers present excellent opportunities to start teaching your kids the value of serving others. If you have the time to volunteer with your kids, there are plenty of opportunities to give back to your Tulsa community for kids aged nine and up. The Tulsa SPCA and the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma are just two excellent organizations near our homes for rent in Owasso that accept volunteers aged as young as nine or eleven, respectively, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
