Best Museums Near Our Homes For Rent In Owasso

Tulsa is rich with history, art, and science museums! A trip to a local museum is an excellent way to get informed, connect with your community, and share the joy of curiosity with friends and neighbors (we recommend a weekend trip with your fellow residents of our Tulsa homes for rent)! With so many great museums to choose from in Tulsa, you can’t go wrong, but these are some of our favorites to get you inspired.

If you have a friend or neighbor you’d love to visit a museum with, be sure to share this post with them once you’re done reading! Now let’s get into it, shall we?

Philbrook Museum of Art

The Philbrook is a quick drive from our Tulsa homes for rent, and it’s well worth a visit. The grounds of the museum alone provide reason enough to visit; the well-manicured garden and landscaping are impressive yet tranquil. Inside, vaulted ceilings, twisting columns, and elaborate decor provide a feast for the eyes, and that’s not even taking into account the museum’s fabulous art collections and exhibitions!

On Saturdays, the Philbrook also offers drop-in art activities for children and parents, so if you’ve got young ones, the museum is well worth a weekend visit!

Gilcrease Museum

Speaking of art, the Gilcrease Museum is also an excellent art museum near our homes for rent in Owasso. This museum focuses on art from the American West, including Native American artifacts and artwork. Like the Philbrook, the Gilcrease Museum also has beautiful gardens that reflect the gardening styles of the time periods that the art inside the museum spans. The park next to the museum is also a great place to take the dogs out for a walk, or enjoy an afternoon picnic!

The Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art

If you’re interested in learning about the Jewish experience in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the United States, and the world, this is a museum you cannot miss. It’s a great place to learn more about Jewish culture, history, religion, and art, regardless of your current level of familiarity. This museum is in south Tulsa, and particularly close for those living in Legacy Living homes in Jenks and Bixby.

Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium

If science and technology are more your vibe, the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium is perfect for you. It’s a particularly good option for families with children, but has plenty to learn for adults as well. The planetarium shows are captivating, and several interactive exhibits give patrons the chance to experience places and activities they normally never would.

This museum is on the small side, so it’s doable in a quick afternoon visit and won’t leave your feet sore afterward from a ton of walking. Be sure to talk to the fantastic volunteers to get even more out of your visit!
